Derrick Inspection Manual – Maersk Contractors

The objective of this manual is to provide a supplement to the Derrick Inspection Task Lists and Work Instructions that are managed within the P3M Maintenance Management System.

This manual does not replace or supersede the Maintenance Manual.

Some years ago, the Industry recognized that new equipment was introduced into the Drilling Industry, and increased inspections were required for areas such as the derrick.
The manual provides details and photographic images that can serve as a reference for the staff involved with planning and executing of Derrick Inspection work identified in the Maintenance Manual.
The manual is a reflection of the focus on the prevention of dropped objects.
Further, Maersk Drilling or Operator may issue and implement “Dropped Objects Campaigns” from time to time.
