PR- 1035 – Well Pulling Hoist Operations Procedure – PDO

Well Pulling Hoist operations in PDO are normally performed by a specialized contractor. Current developments in overall contracting strategy have led to full-service type contracts whereby the contractor provides all direct and associated services related to well-pulling hoist operations such as the provision of hoists, camps, crews, transport of all equipment including downhole materials, transport, and mixing of brine, etc. All of these activities are to a large extent self-supervised by the Contractor with the Company mainly providing an overall planning and scheduling role.

This Procedure sets out the standards by which well pulling hoist operations are to be conducted on PDO-operated wells.
It forms the framework from which detailed work practice procedures can be developed and maintained by contractor companies who perform well-pulling hoist operations on behalf of PDO.
It should also be used as a reference document when compiling programs for individual Well Pulling Hoist operations.
