The objective for this Manual is to provide information required for the Person in Charge and the drilling crew to conduct a safe and effective job, when drilling, testing, completion and workover operations of any oil or gas well takes place.
The Manual will also provide information, which will enable the crew to gain control over an emergency, or in the case of an escalating event to mitigate the effects of the emergency.
The Manual cover the requirements for the MODU, however the information should be available as a reference for others involved when drilling, testing, completion, water injection and workover operations takes place.
In this Manual Section 1 to 13 reflect corporate requirements and is identical for all MODUs, while section 14 reflects the BOP set-up and recommended test procedures for the individual MODU.
Section 14 also comprises Legal Requirements laid down in the Operating Area.
The Shore Base Management operating the unit is at all times responsible for having this section current and in compliance with the requirements.
The set-up and procedures outlined in Section 9 (High Pressure High Temperature Well Control) will only be governing if/when the MODU is drilling into or is drilling in a known HPHT area.
The requirements specified in this manual are considered fundamental and mandatory by Maersk Contractors. Any deviation from the requirements in this manual is subject to a Deviation Permit issued by the Head of Operations, Drilling Division at MC Copenhagen.
