As an HSE Intern, you will be an integral part of the Health and Safety Office, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the implementation and enhancement of health, safety, and environmental initiatives within a university setting. This internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of HSE management, including risk assessments, safety training, compliance monitoring, and emergency response planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting safety inspections and risk assessments across all facilities.
- Collaborate with the HSE team to develop and update safety procedures and guidelines.
- Support the planning and execution of safety training sessions for staff and students.
- Assist in monitoring and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of emergency response plans and drills.
- Participate in incident investigations and assist in the preparation of reports and recommendations.
- Work closely with HSE professionals to analyze data and trends related to safety metrics.
- Support the promotion of a safety culture by creating awareness campaigns and educational materials.
