1 Hot Work A Hot Work is a work with a potential source of ignition or if it may produce a possible source of ignition.

Exemption: Hotwork in Welding Shop

  • Grinding;
  • Chipping;
  • Cutting;
  • Welding;
  • Burning;
  • Temporary use of internal combustion engines and non-intrinsically safe (IS) equipment in Zones I or 2;
  • Risk Assessment;
  • TBT;
  • Fire Warden Checklist (on PTW);
2 Work at Height Working above 2 m where fixed or temporary guarding is not provided is considered as Work at Height.

Exemption: Derrickman racking pipes on Monkeyboard level

  • Manriding Activities by Winch, Crane or Telehandler;
  • Erecting or dismantling scaffolding;
  • Greasing on Crown block;
  • Dismantling/Removing of handrails, ladders, grating (rigging down and rigging up);
  • Risk Assessment;
  • TBT;

Depending on the Ops nature:

  • F-24 – Pre-Manriding Checklist;
  • F-79 – Crane Manbasket Checklist;
  • Scaffolding checklist (by 3rd Party);
3 Works with Dangerous Substances  Work with substances hazardous for health
  • Handling Radioactives;
  • Handling Explosives;
  • Handling Chemicals that cannot be identified;
  • Handling Chemicals that doesn’t have MSDS;
  • Handling NORM contaminated equipment;
  • Handling/Pumping Acid;
  • Risk Assessment;
  • TBT;
  • F-25 – Radio Silence Checklist;
  • Explosives Checklist (by 3rd party);
4 Pressure Testing Pressure testing of equipment, piping systems or hoses according to relevant procedures. Pressure test of any units/equipment, e.g.:

  • Cement Unit;
  • BOP;
  • Test manifold;
  • Choke manifold;
  • Pressure lines;
  • Pressure vessels;
  • Well head;
  • Silo;
  • etc.

5 Confined Space Entry A confined space is any area with limited or restricted means for entry or exit and is not designed for continuous occupancy.
  • Cellar;
  • Mud Tanks;
  • Sewage tanks;
  • Water tanks;
  •  Silos;
  • Hydrocarbon tanks;
  • Risk Assessment;
  • TBT;
  • Confined Space Entry Checklist (on PTW);
  • F-11 – Confined Space Monitoring Sheet;

6 Well Operation/Well Intervention Operations involving third party and unit own activities posing combination of multiple hazards.
  • Well stimulation;
  • Coiled tubing operation;
  • Setting plug in or removal of X-mass tree.;
  • Well testing activities, flow tests in particular;
  • All Third Party activities related to well, e.g.:
    •  Installation of any third party equipment
    • Rigging up packer/larleur equipment;
    • Cementing and associated activities;
    • Wireline operation/production logging;
    • Pressure cleaning of tubulars by contractor;
  • Risk Assessment;
  • TBT;
  • F-39 – 3rd Party Equipment;
7 Isolation of Safety System Work that involves isolation and testing or bypassing of safety systems.

Work on any Safety Critical Equipment while drilling or workover:

  • Emergency shutdown systems
  • Firefighting systems
  • Pressure Relief systems
  • Detection systems
  • Alarm systems
  • Emergency power and non-interruptible power supply
  • BOP and diverter systems
  • Accumulators Unit maintenance during operations.
  • Crown-o-Matic
  • Floor-o-Matic
  • Any other system designed or used to form a safety barrier.

8 Lifting Non-routine Lifting Activities
  • Lifting Personnel;
  • Lifting more than 5t;

  • Lifting items over pressurized equipment such as producing wells, or pressure vessels;

9 Maintenance
Preventive and Troubleshooting Maintenance Activities
  • Working on equipment that has auto or remote start functions;
  • Non-routine maintenance in mast during normal operations;
  • Working on equipment requiring any kind of isolation, either mechanical or electrical, e.g.
    • Changing liners on MPs
    • Draworks maintenace
    • Elmago maintenance
  • Risk Assessment;
  • TBT;
  • Isolation Certificate;
10 Other Any operation that may pose a hazard due to its nature, or due to lack of safety barriers.
  • Opening various valves that might lead to a spill of hazardous substances to the nature;
  • Excavation on location while Unit is operating;
  • Work above or around water tanks or pits;
  • Erecting or moving equipment in close proximity to overhead power lines;
  • Use of high pressure jetting equipment (>2000psi)
  • Slip & Cut
  • Re-charging of Nitrogen Bottles;
  • Grit blasting;
