Manriding task and job objectives been adequately explained
Leak Repair – Pumps are off, pressure is released
Hand Signals – Raise, STOP and Lower – have been agreed with the involved crew
Emergency rescue plan reviewed
Current environmental conditions suitable for performing Manriding activity
All other activities that may interfere with manriding have been ceased
‘Do Not Use’ warning signs placed on the drillers brake/derrick ladder/other winches/other interfering machinery
If using Radios, agreed that only hand signals will be utilized for any movements

Winch operator agreed not to leave the winch while the manrider is raised
Manrider’s pockets have been emptied of loose articles (pens, tallybooks, tools etc.)
Winch operator agreed the principle of ‘NO SIGNAL NO MOVEMENT’

Winch cable is in good condition and spooled correctly
Brakes operating correctly
Control lever operates correctly, clearly marked (UP/DOWN), and returns to neutral automatically if released
Emergency stop has been tested
Remote control cables/hoses not damaged
Slackline Shutdown is operational
