Job Summary

The Crisis & Continuity Manager role is an important role providing day to day management of Crisis Continuity Management (C&CM) & Employee Relations resources, delivering high quality output in support of effective risk management and crisis preparedness. This incorporates all aspects of crisis and continuity management to ensure full compliance with both company defined practices and in country regulatory requirements.

In addition to the normal C&CM duties, the C&CM manager is an integral part of the regional leadership team and there will be opportunities to lead on projects which have a regional and possibly global remit.

Responsibilities

  • Main responsibilities

    • The C&CM Manager is a leading member of the regional leadership team and is accountable and responsible for the support and delivery of all crisis, continuity management, and emergency response programs in the Region;
    • Provides professional guidance, support and advice during a response, to the incident management team, business support and country support team;
  • Development of SMS:

    • Ensures the development, implementation and maintenance of CCM&ER response programs and response plans in alignment with Company principles and Operating Management System principles;
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment:

    • Manage and provide input into the entity risk assessment process with respect to crisis management, business continuity, emergency response and environmental risks.
  • Team Management:

    • Leads the CCM&ER team and role models company values and behaviors, ethics, and compliance, whilst demonstrating strong performance management concepts through assessing organizational capability, providing individual gap analysis, career development planning, mentoring, and coaching to all direct reports.
  • Equipment:

    • Ensures contingency equipment inspection and maintenace plans are developed and implemented;
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Ensures an effective lesson learned process is placed to capture improvements identified during exercises and actual responses;
  • Competency Development:

    • Coordinate with HR on compliance with Training requirements;
    • Ensure team competencies are maintained relevant to their roles in contingency management;
    • Supports the development, implementation and maintainance of employee training programs as indicated by regulatory guidelines, hazardous condition monitoring;
  • Communication:

    • Manage communication strategies;
    • Builds relationships with key internal and external stakeholders e.g. business leadership, HSE&C in region, regulatory and government agencies where required;
  • Coordination:

    • Works closely with colleagues to manage the Security risks in Region;
  • Resource Management:

    • Accountable for CCM&ER budget;
    • Acts as Contract Manager for relevant CCM&ER contractors and leads the sourcing of material, equipment, personnel and supplies necessary to implement the CCM&ER plans, environmental damage preparedness and response;
  • Assurance:

    • Leads the implementation of the self-verification process for CCM&ER within the asset;
    • Verifies that the relevant staff/contractors operate to a consistent set of policies and procedures while executing their own self-verification plans;
  • Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with Occupational regulations and standards;
    • Ensures compliance with environmental regulations;
    • Ensures compliance with internal company Management System requirements;
  • Training & Coaching:

    • Sets direction and ensures that there is an appropriate program of training and exercises to maintain both capability of the CCM&ER team and all other response personnel, including the incident management team, business support team and country support at site;

Qualifications

  • BSc in industrial engineering, systems engineering, or mechanical engineering or related degree. These programs should combine classroom studies with labs and field experiences.
