  • Use flat surface(for ex. desk surface)
  • Use soft thin cover(blanket) on it before laying glass onto desk.
  •  PPE
    • Eye protection, wear safety glasses or goggles.
    • Hand protection, wear gloves to protect against cuts from sharp edges.

Above are stated all the major controls you need to put in place to prevent any incidents, nevertheless, please visit the actual work site and see what other hazards could be present there, like:

  • Drops – whether any cut piece can drop on the same level or even to the level below
  • Torse exposure – whether the way you need to carry out the cut can expose your tummy/chest/arms/legs to the sharp edges.
  • Asset damage/unnecessary exposure – how will you move the glass to the cut location and back to stowage area.
  • Environmental hazard/ Waste handling worker’s protection – how will you dispose the scrap glass
  • Public safety – how will you protect the public (e.g. spouse, kids, passers-by) from exposing themselves to this operation.
