What is the difference between safety and security?

Safety
- Safety is about protection from adverse effects of unintentional violation (unsafe act), unsafe conditions etc.,
- Safety is the prevention of accidents (accidents which may or may not involve human agents but are in any case not intentional).
- Safety can be defined as the precautionary measures taken to prevent an accident ( which are unintended).
- It is limited to safeguard oneself or others from hazardous materials and situations and does not involve any terror or criminal angle.
Security
- Security is a protection from deliberate violations, aggression towards established laws resulting in people or asset loss
- Security is the prevention of malicious activities by people (mugging, burglary, robbery, terrorist activities, etc.).
- Security is to prevent and protect from a pre-planned intended danger by a person or group.
- It is related to Armed, Police or Law Enforcement agencies a Country, Organization or Individual.
