What are the precautions for the curtain rod installation?

Hazards:
- All hazards of working at heights
- Falls inside or outside of window
- Hand and finger injury
- Dropped curtain with a rod
- Eye injury from debris falling while drilling the ceiling
- Electric shock from portable drill
- Ladder falling
Precautions:
- Attach yourself with a safety belt/harness and lanyard to an achor point to prevent falls
- Close the window to prevent falling outside
- Familiarize yourself with Drill handling techniques before climbing the ladder
- Install the rod using proper installation instructions, e.g. proper size screws, etc.
- Use Safety Glasses
- Check the Drill for any damaged cord and at least tape it.
- Choose double action activated drill
- Follow the 4 to 1 ratio ladder rule: set the base 1 foot out from the wall for every 4 feet it reaches up.
- Ensure ladder has rubber padding on the feet, to prevent slipping, but in any case, tie it to the wall (better to be on the safe side.
Mitigations:
- If you happen to fall, then throw the drill aside, so that you dont land on the bit.
