Incident type: Industrial fire originating from food processing machine inside plant
At approximately 8:36 a.m., a food processing machine inside the Ingredion Argo facility caught fire, sending smoke visible from the building on the large industrial site. Emergency units responded quickly and located two male plant employees with burn injuries. Both were transported to local hospitals, and management later confirmed they are expected to make a full recovery.
A firefighter involved in suppression activities also sustained minor burn injuries and was taken to a hospital for evaluation; officials stated the firefighter is expected to be okay.
The Bedford Park Fire Department brought the fire under control by about 9:00 a.m., and operations in the affected part of the plant were temporarily shut down following the incident. Other employees were able to exit the building safely.
Workers: Two male employees with burn injuries, hospitalised, both expected to fully recover.
Fire service: One firefighter with minor burn injuries, transported for evaluation and expected to recover.
