In the last days of 2025, an oil-containing liquid emerged to the surface at the M-25 oil field located in Baysun district, Surkhandarya region, Uzbekistan. This environmental incident prompted immediate action from responsible agencies to contain and control the spread of petroleum fluid.

CONTAINMENT AND CONTROL MEASURES
The Ministry of Energy implemented comprehensive containment strategies:
• Additional protective reservoirs were constructed around the field and along the riverbed to prevent widespread oil fluid dispersion
• Two fully insulated sludge pools, each with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters, were established as designated safe storage facilities
• Collected oil liquid is continuously transported to these specialized pools for controlled storage, processing, and potential reuse

• The spread of oil fluid has been successfully restrained
• Initial cleanup work is being consistently carried out on oil discharged into nearby waterways
