*Unit* is an example in this respect. Similarly even with all resources available, without Your engagement we would never get this far.

This is not an achievement of the HSE department.

I step back in time and I remember 1 years ago when we just started, not many people outside our Team beleived that we can make it. But we did, You did!

Conducting one of the most dangerous activities on Earth with barely familiar with ecrews ininvolved  therefore being able to do better would be an act of real heroism. Heroes – is exactly what you all proven to be with this new amazing achievement of 5 years, nearly 2,000 days and over 20 million man-hours LTI free. You are the true safety heroes. Well done. Thank you very much.

 

LTI Free Congratulation – 3

We would like to congratulate BGP on achieving an outstanding 12 Million Man Hours LTI-Free on 23th July 2013.

This is a remarkable achievement, especially in consideration of the severe terrain, including the Umm A Samim Sabkha, which the seismic crew has experienced and is currently managing.

Such HSE performance can achieved by working with a true belief that ‘No Harm To People’ comes before any other priority.

It has been a pleasure working with BGP and with the dedicated professionals who have made this happen.

We look forward to continuing our collaborative safety approach, and working together to reduce all possible HSE exposures in the upcoming challenging work ahead of us.

On behalf of the State of Qatar and Qatar Petroleum, I am delighted to join you today to celebrate a historic achievement and to congratulate all of you for accomplishing 100 million man-hours without a lost time incident.

This remarkable safety milestone could not have been achieved without the exceptional teamwork and attention to detail by RasGas, its contractors, and sub-contractors; but most of all, it could not have been achieved without you following the correct safety procedures. Each of you has worked hard as a single team for this recognition; and you deserve this celebration. I sincerely thank you for making Qatar proud.

What really matters for us at the end of the day is that everybody goes home safe.

His Excellency, The Minister expressed admiration that, in total, more than 30,000 workers from 45 countries have contributed to this historic achievement. He also recognised the efforts of RasGas adding “I also would like to thank RasGas, which is not just a reliable energy supplier, but is also an industry leader in safety and environmental performance.

RasGas does not compromise on safety; as a world class global energy supplier, safety governs every aspect of how we do business. I am very proud of our impressive achievement and extend my congratulations to the RasGas Venture Group, project management teams, contractors, subcontractors and site workers for making this incredible milestone possible.

When all project elements are considered – including, having a workforce of more than 30,000 workers from 45 nationalities, a three-square-kilometre complex project site, and working at a rate of over 1.5 million hours per week – successfully managing all these components simultaneously makes reaching this achievement truly remarkable.

 

LTI Free Congratulation – 6

Congratulations to our team and contractors working on Hudbay’s Constancia Project in Peru for achieving 4 million man-hours Lost Time Injury (LTI) free for the Ausenco managed scope.

In addition, the combined project team including Hudbay, StraconGyM, Ausenco and the contractors and service providers also reached a significant milestone this week, achieving 10 million man-hours LTI free.

These achievements demonstrate the dedication of the teams and how safety can be managed when constructing diverse facilities including open cut mines, process plants and associated infrastructure in challenging conditions such as those at Constancia, 4,500 m above sea level.

The Ausenco site team led by Bill Cravens (Site Manager), with the support of Daniel Carey (Senior Project HSE Manager), is working closely with the managers and supervisors of all contractors to ensure safety leadership at all levels continues to improve. This is a large task with the site construction activity increasing every week and the peak of construction personnel expected to reach over 6,000 people working onsite on a daily basis by June 2014.

It is a credit to all involved on the Project to achieve these milestones and we look forward to celebrating more of these milestones in the future as we complete construction and transition into commissioning and operations.

On 30th November, we passed a milestone in our ongoing journey towards making “Unit” an incident and injury free unit .This outstanding achievement reiterates our firm commitment to safety and demonstrates that in ‘Unit’.

This achievement is all the more remarkable considering the various challenges ‘Unit’ has had to deal with, various well operations and the ongoing maintenance. I strongly believe that this achievement is the result of a work culture based on hard work and commitment to teamwork, strong management support, personal ownership of systems and continuous improvement.

Our safety record is something we can all be proud of, something that sets us apart. However, what I would like to reiterate on this occasion is that we must not allow our pride in this achievement to turn into complacency. We must not shift our focus from ensuring that work is carried out in a safe manner. We must take responsibility for our own safety and for that of our colleagues and continue to be vigilant in looking out for issues related to safety.

This achievement clearly demonstrates our compliance not only with the mandatory safety codes and regulations but also our willingness to embrace key learnings from significant incidents both internally and externally. We are a learning organisation fully committed to ‘continual safety improvement’ as stated in our SHERQ Policy. We are truly on our way to becoming an employer of choice where our families and dependents can beassured that when we come to work we will be safe. We are proving that a steel manufacturer is able to operate without any lost time injury and by doing so demonstrate that we care about each other.

It has by no means been a walk in the park. We would not have achieved this result without everyone’s commitment and hereby I include our contractors. Our contractor management interventions, proper engagement with both employees and contractors has contributed to this significant result. This outstanding achievement stems largely from visible felt leadership, team work and a proactive approach in dealing with safety deviations. I would like to acknowledge the plant champions, standard champions, task initiators, permit receivers, contractors and everyone involved for maintaining our practical approach and commitment to close the gaps identified during our audits and walking the extra mile when it comes to safety.

Whilst achieving 365 LTI free days is an outstanding performance, we cannot become complacent. The risks and hazards will not disappear. We have seen other operating units reaching similar milestones only to have a fatality shortly after. It is imperative that we remain vigilant and do everything possible to protect our good safety performance.

It is almost preposterous to think that *Unit* would complete 2 years LTI free considering the big number of incidents across all *Project* Units. But here we are and we did it in style.

Land Rig for achieving LTI Free milestone

Many congratulations for this excellent milestone as HSE is the first and prime requirement in our operation. It is an important achievement for an Insourcing rig, as the whole [Department] team is looking on [Department] rigs to set an example and path for others rigs to follow. You are the first rig to achieve the same and many more to follow.  

 Its been a journey from scratch to this reality and would not have been possible without the support, commitment and supervision of [UNIT], whole [Department] team and our service providers as well.

 I have been also witness to this journey and feels great to say that the team has improved a lot day by day in this year on HSE, Operation and commitment. I could see the difference in each site visit and last week visit was the best status so far. Even in operation, this week you just did the best [Department] rig move ever (just 5 hrs only) which looks like icing on the cake now.

 We have now additional responsibility to go beyond milestones and continue safe practice, behavior, safe intervention and supervision every day to live upto standard we reached now and ensure everyone of us goes back home after work without harm.

 My congratulations and best wishes to whole [Department] team, many more achievement to come.
