RA-1 – Rig Move Operation Risk Assessment
Rig drills the well or wells in one spot. When it’s finished it gets taken apart or towed in one piece to a new place and put back together to drill another well.
This RA is applicable to Land Rig moves.

- Overhead line clearance certificate if required
- Pre-move meeting to define roles & responsibilities and to identify potential hazards
- Rig move procedure
- Pre-move inspection and road / area survey
- Pre-use check and inspection of vehicles and loads
- Regular checks of vehicles and load during journey
- Journey Management – restrict / avoid night journey
- Plan convoy and controlled speed of vehicles
- Police escort & traffic controls
- Work regime and rest periods
- Established mean of communication
- Signboards provided on every turn leading from the nearest PDO main camp to the Unit
