The role is for an experienced HSE Officer with prior construction experience, specifically in substations and civil works, including oil and gas related projects.
The officer is responsible for ensuring that all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures are followed on the company’s construction sites.
Job responsibilities
Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures for the company.
Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Provide training and guidance to employees on HSE best practices.
Investigate accidents and incidents and provide recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
Maintain and update HSE records and reports.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on HSE matters.
Conduct safety inductions for new employees and subcontractors.
Keep up-to-date with relevant HSE legislation and industry best practices.
Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness among employees.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an HSE Officer in the construction industry, with focus on substations, oil and gas, and civil works.
NEBOSH or equivalent certification preferred.
Knowledge of local HSE regulations and standards, with strong communication, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to work both independently and in a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE software.
