About the Role
Airswift is seeking an experienced HSEQ Supervisor to join a logistics and equipment rental company serving the oil and gas industry in Paramaribo, Suriname. This is a permanent position designed for a health, safety, environmental, and quality professional with proven expertise in offshore and onshore operations.
Position Summary
You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive HSEQ management systems, conducting regular audits and inspections, monitoring performance indicators, and ensuring full compliance with international standards and local Suriname regulations. This role is critical for maintaining a strong safety culture and supporting operational excellence across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Implement and maintain HSEQ management systems aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and client-specific requirements
• Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections for both offshore and onshore operations
• Monitor and report HSEQ performance indicators including incident reports, near misses, and corrective actions
• Develop and deliver comprehensive HSEQ training programs for employees and contractors with focus on oil and gas operational risks
• Ensure strict compliance with Suriname's environmental and safety regulations and manage waste disposal processes responsibly
• Investigate incidents thoroughly and prepare detailed reports with root cause analysis and recommendations
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams on all HSEQ matters
• Support emergency response planning and conduct drills for offshore and onshore facilities
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits, certifications, and client reporting
Required Qualifications
• Proven experience in HSEQ within oil and gas operations (both offshore and onshore)
• Solid knowledge of international HSEQ standards and Suriname regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with work permit systems, confined space entry (CSE), and classified area safety
• Certification in NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent (highly desirable)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSEQ reporting tools
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
