Role purpose
The Manager HSSEQ leads the development, implementation and monitoring of the Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality management systems to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations for TotalEnergies Marketing UAE, in line with Group standards, local UAE regulations and industry best practice.
Key responsibilities
Drive HSSEQ strategy, objectives and programs for the business unit, ensuring alignment with TotalEnergies Group policies and the ambition of carbon neutrality by 2050, together with society.
Establish, maintain and continuously improve integrated management systems (QMS/EMS/OHSAS/Energy) including policies, procedures, audits, KPIs and management reviews.
Ensure compliance with all applicable HSSEQ regulations and standards in the UAE, including JAFZA Code of Practice, EHS Trakhees and Dubai Municipality requirements.
Lead risk management activities: hazard identification, risk assessment, incident investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Promote HSSEQ culture across all levels of the organization through communication, training, coaching and visible leadership in the field.
Coordinate internal and external audits and inspections, follow up on non-conformities and drive action plans to closure.
Liaise with authorities, partners, contractors and other stakeholders on HSSEQ matters, ensuring effective external relations and transparent reporting.
Provide expert advice to management on HSSEQ performance, emerging risks, regulatory changes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Oversee emergency preparedness and response planning, drills and business continuity aspects related to HSSEQ.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in HSSEQ or closely related functions, ideally in energy, logistics, industrial or similar high‑risk operations.
Internal interaction
Work closely with senior management, operations, maintenance, logistics, HR and other support functions to embed HSSEQ requirements into all activities and decision‑making processes.
External interaction
Interface with regulators, local authorities, customers, suppliers, contractors and auditors on HSSEQ topics, representing the company as a responsible and compliant operator.
Compliance and HSSEQ objectives
Ensure full compliance with Group rules, local legislation and relevant international standards.
Contribute to TotalEnergies’ commitment to a just energy transition and carbon neutrality by 2050 by improving safety, environmental performance and societal engagement.
Education
Degree in Engineering (Environment/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
Advantage:
NEBOSH Award in Health and Safety at Work obtained in Abu Dhabi.
Knowledge of JAFZA Code of Practice, EHS Trakhees and Dubai Municipality frameworks.
Certifications and skills
Certification in HSSEQ and/or experience as Internal Auditor for QMS/EMS/OHSAS/Energy management systems.
Strong knowledge of integrated management systems and regulatory compliance.
Excellent communication, leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
