The Safety Fleet Instructor is responsible for providing training, instruction, coaching, mentoring and competence assessment of offshore and onshore personnel in specific disciplines (Cargo, Deck Operations, Electrical & Instrumentation, Safety, Mechanical, Rigging & Lifting, Mooring Master and MOME).
Key responsibilities include:
• Gain knowledge and understanding of the SBM management system and fulfil responsibilities described in GEMS; perform competence assessments and evaluations on board.
• Develop and present high‑quality theoretical and practical training, coaching and mentoring for all levels of staff.
• Deliver high‑quality competence assessments on fleet FPSO projects in line with national and international standards; apply national and industry standards to training programmes.
• Maintain personal skills and support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across fleet training and coaching materials.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships across fleet projects; contribute to the safety of trainees, colleagues, contractors and visitors; identify needs and progress accordingly.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety or a related field.
• Recognised qualification in training and/or education with minimum five years in the oil and gas industry (operational, training and supervisory experience).
• Proven effectiveness in training, coaching and assessment of technical personnel.
• Proficiency in English at least to B1 (CEFR) level and medically fit to work offshore.
Functional competencies:
• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health, Hearing Conservation, Helicopter Administration, Environmental Management System, Competence Assurance, Planning Work, SOLAS, Safety Management (HOD), On Scene Commander and Helicopter Operations.
