The Safety Officer – FPSO Gran Morgu is responsible for ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance onboard offshore operations and sets exemplary standards in HSSE management. Key responsibilities include implementing HSE policies, procedures and programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment; ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, occupational health and process safety standards; preparing and updating HSE plans; conducting safety meetings, audits and inspections; maintaining up‑to‑date HSE databases and records; promoting a strong safety culture through inspections, hazard identification, training and awareness programs; ensuring quality adherence to the company’s permit‑to‑work system and risk assessments; administering the onboard observation and incident reporting programs; preparing clear reports and ensuring follow up of incidents; providing induction for new arrivals and emergency response training; maintaining pollution control measures and unplanned discharge response; and demonstrating competence in emergency response drills and exercises.
Job requirements include a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety or a related field; at least ten years of experience in HSE management in the offshore oil and gas industry; experience with international standards such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/45001; experience servicing or maintaining firefighting equipment and lifesaving appliances and supporting helicopter operations; competence in controlling hazardous maintenance activities including hot work and confined space entry; possession of a NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent; offshore emergency response training (e.g., helideck landing officer, fire team/advanced firefighting, coxswain) and personal survival; proficiency in English (minimum B2 CEFR level); and the ability to meet the company’s medical fitness requirements for offshore work.
