What are the restrictions of Fire extinguishing ball?

Application:
The ball fits well for

1. Remote geographical locations, that are hard to reach in time.
2. Remote areas within the compartment that are hard to reach, due to height, accessability etc.
3. Last line of defense. Reserve the Fire Ball as the last resort for the cases when the situation gets out of control and fire fighters need to abandon the fire scene.

Restrictions:

• Limited coverage area. Single Fire Ball would nto be effective in large rooms, as well as in the open air.
  • Solution: Proper planning and installation of numerious Balls at certain distance from each other as per OEM recommendation (If there is any, I could not find any on their website)
• Immobility. If the Fire Ball is Installed it would naturally not be so efficient if the fire happens at a distance
  • Solution: Proper planning and installation of the Ball in the close vicinity of the potentially fire causign equipment.
• Late activation – it will be activated only when the fire evolves, temperature rises, flames  engulf the whole area reaching the ball.This might cause loss of asset.

Depending on Fire Ball solely woul not be recomended. In addition to Fire Ball you need to have effective detection system installed, train the staff for relevant fire fighting techniquies so that they can act timely by using portable extinguishers, hoses etc.
