How much time do EHS professionals spend researching on hearing protection?

This will depend on the requirement of the particular plant, risk level.
Not much required to be done if the below conditions are met:
- Noise survey was part of pre-commissioning;
- If the existing hearing Protection is adequate to the noise level expected in the working environment
- As long as new plants with different noise level are not introduced to the working environment
